A disciplined framework

Specialized neurophysiology.

A considered pathway for legitimate methods—not an expanded list of unverified tests.

Specialization begins with a meaningful question.

Specialized neurophysiology addresses focused questions about neural or neuromuscular function using appropriate electrophysiologic methods. A useful technique has a defensible physiologic basis, a suitable acquisition protocol, relevant reference information and a defined clinical role.

The current educational portfolio describes EEG, NCS, needle EMG, RNS, F-waves, H-reflex, blink reflex and somatosensory, visual and auditory evoked potentials. This category does not imply that additional unnamed tests are offered.

Responsible development.

Any future addition requires verification of equipment, personnel competence, applicable professional scope, acquisition standards and interpretation arrangements. A new capability will be described specifically and accurately when that framework is established.

Professional discussion can explore a legitimate clinical or technical need without presuming that a particular service is currently available. Future neurovascular work is described separately and remains in development.
